Mucky-Puck is a water borne blend of acrylate polymers, platelet pigments and minerals. And, with an eye toward the environment, Mucky-Puck has been specifically formulated to contain no lead, no mercury and no asbestos.

Mucky-Puck possesses thixotropic qualities which prevent the settling of pigments and reduces the potential for sag. This will significantly reduce the need to refill or recaulk areas which must be flush with the surface before coating.

Mucky-Puck has excellent adhesion to most substrates including: wood, urethane foam, galvanized steel, glass, stone, aluminum, stainless steel, asphalt and masonry. In addition, Mucky-Puck exhibits good elasticity and good movement capabilities resulting in crack resistance. These qualities permit Mucky-Puck to be used successfully to fill gaps and holes between differing materials. In most cases, differing materials have different coefficients of expansion and contraction. During the day's natural heating and cooling cycles materials will expand and contract at different rates. Mucky-Puck's elasticity and movement capabilities resist cracking allowing it to "flex" with these natural changes.

Mucky-Puck's ultraviolet stability and light color do not allow the permeation of oils caused by heating from the sun, a problem common to many asphalt and asphalt-like materials. Mucky-Puck can remain flexible and resist embrittling and cracking.

Mucky-Puck can also be tinted with custom colors allowing it to blend in with the surrounding surface. For many applications this will allow a true one-step process providing a finished appearance and eliminating unsightly lines or patch marks.
